Panel Top Project

I am ready to begin the panel top project. After wearing my smock again for a few days in Portland and talking it over with Andrea and Karen, we’ve decided we’re going to jump into the panel project by wearing our panel top everyday for a limited period of time. I have no idea how long that will be or how it will work compared to the smock but I’m excited to try! It will be hard to have a panel that will work both on horseback and in professional settings but I’m going to give it a try. There aren’t too many ways to go about the design aspect of the panel since it has to be a rectangle with no cutouts whatsoever. I’m going to go with the 100% linen like Andrea did because it has impeccable drape and it just gets softer with each wash. I am not going to hand sew it, however, because I need it to hold itself together after 50 washes. I will probably add minimal embellishment. I hope to get it ready for wear by tomorrow but it isn’t even ironed yet….
